Welcome to 100 miles of Gardens! The
gardens are non-profit, community-supported
gardens initiated by Mississippi Valley
Partners, a tourism collation group.
The gardens incorporate 14 villages
on the Mississippi River.
The objective is to create more green
space in each community by adding
colorful, interesting gardens. In
addition to the public gardens we've
created we've asked businesses to
dress up their towns using containers,
hanging baskets and window box planters.
Over the last decade gardening has
become one of the most popular hobbies.
The results of this labor-intense
activity are now being enjoyed by
all. Thus, individuals in each community
have been asked to be included in
our
garden tour brochure so that the results
of their labor may be enjoyed by many.
There is a diverse collection of fragrant
perennials, annuls, fruits and vegetables
as well as a vineyard and blueberry
patch. Other attractions are water
ponds; prairie grasses and even a
Japanese garden.
Our hope is that visitors will take
a day or two to wander through these
fourteen villages to view these beautiful
gardens. Call 888-999-2619 for our

site at www.mississippi-river.org
