About Rollingstone & Pickwick
Rollingstone city hall, which contained the jail, court
room, and fire station and more recently Stoos Electric,
became the Rollingstone Luxembourg Heritage Museum
in 1987. The Museum contains artifacts brought over from
Luxembourg by visitors from that country and Rollingstone
residents who have traveled over seas to visit their heritage.
The museum houses over a thousand items from Luxembourg.
The Pickwick Mill, built from 1856-1858, is one of the oldest water powered gristmills found in southeastern Minnesota. Construction is of locally quarried limestone, with a timber frame so closely fit nails were not used. The mill ran 24 hours a day producing 100 barrels daily for the Civil War Union Army. After the war it became a flour mill. Today the mill is an historic site and open to the public to visit.
Take a back roads trip to these two small in-land towns and enjoy the relaxing scenary on the way to learning from the preserved history of Minnesota's past.
